… yay first day of my internship at CUTS GRC (Consumer Unity and Trust Society- Geneva Resource Centre)…

first accomplishment of the day was learning to use a french keyboard .. all of my y’s were z’s …. soooo confusing and annoying
second was to learn to deal with the quietness of the office …. it is so quiet in here and I have yet to be given my official assignment so I have just been reading the different research projects that the organization is working on right now
there are two projects one is called FEATS (fostering equity and accountability in the trading system) and the other is called BIEAC (building an inclusive east african community) —— both super interesting economic research on trade policy in developing countries ….. which is EXACTly what i want to do in life … the only problem is .. is that it is almost impossible to get a job in this field … hopefully this internship will help me establish connections… we will see… Grad school here I come ;)

im tired already and all I’ve done is read all day hahaha

Jon (aka the boy) wrote me the nicest email today …. I’ve never really had a guy who has been so sweet and romantic with me … yes I have had boyfriends but not like this …. he says all the things i have always wanted someone to say to me and we have so much in common (including having a birth mark on our right thigh that both our mothers also have… weird i know)….he is so amazing and caring…. it is mostly unreal to me … and I keep thinking to myself that something is going to happen to ruin this near like fairytale for me…. we will see … I hope it isn’t just puppy love and we can sustain this amazing bond we have … time will tell i suppose

anyways …… i got an email today from someone who has never bothered to reach out to anyone in our program (the geneva switzerland BU program) wanting to all get together and have a potluck dinner every wednesday…. and guess what … I was appalled …. and kind of annoyed …. it just doesn’t seem sincere to me…. she is an excluding person … she has excluded most people for this entire trip and now that she realizes no one likes her she is trying to reach out to people … i know i know i should think it is nice and say better late then never …. but it bothers me so much!!!! why don’t you just accept the person you are … I’d respect you more if you just acknowledged that you are cliquey and made peace with it … not pretend to actually want to be friends with everyone …. this is how people sleep at night by making these poor attempts to be nice and friendly … i just don’t think they deserve it ..
